A new decade has finally dawned, and behavioral health continues to advance. We’ve collected a variety of topics we believe will define the behavioral health landscape in 2020, with sources examining each one. Throughout 2020, we plan to expound on each of these topics ourselves, adding our expert opinions to the larger discussion. For now, consider this an introduction to what to expect in the coming year.
The addiction treatment industry is on the precipice of enormous change. Ongoing lawsuits—brought on by unethical behavior and business practices—will affect the way insurance providers reimburse addiction treatment facilities going forward. The challenge has been sounded: treatment providers must reevaluate and improve their manner of conduct if they wish to succeed under increased scrutiny.

Winners were announced and honored at a private banquet hosted by the Portland Business Journal on April 23.

While Avea Solutions is no longer a billing company, we still maintain a core team to both assist some of our older clients and to stay on top of industry trends. Sara is an incredibly valuable member of this R & D team. Take it away, Sara!
What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?
Professionally, I'm most passionate about learning new skills. On a personal level, my greatest passions are aviation and cute raccoon videos.
What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?
There's only one thing I would do without pay, and that is fly. Pay or not, as long as I was in the air, I would be happy.
What are you surprisingly good at (work or personal)?
I am surprisingly good at arguing the case for why my boyfriend should be the one to make dinner and I should never cook.
Over the last several weeks, the thoughts of the entire Avea family have been with our Texas and Florida-based clients and vendors affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Many of our partners in these states were forced to evacuate their offices and homes, and have only just begun to assess the damage resulting from the storms.
